Do You Carry Chambered or Not...

I am a strong believer that it is our duty as responsible citizens to carry a loaded firearm.  Those of us with the ability have the obligation and responsibility to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

I read an interesting article yesterday about the difference between carrying with a chambered bullet and carrying without.  Apparently there is a lot of debate between "safety" and "readiness."

Some people believe that it is safer to carry a pistol without a bullet in the chamber.  I would argue the exact opposite.  I carry my pistol to protect my self from those who would harm me or my family.  I have never been concerned that I will shoot myself and have carried a loaded gun for almost four years now without doing so.  I believe the extend of my safety depends on how quickly I can draw my gun and unload it on my target.  The last thing I want to worry about is how quickly I can cock it.

Both my wife and I carry our guns loaded and in my opinion we are safer for it.  Just my two cents on the subject.
